HGTV’s Sarah Richardson delivered the keynote speech at the 2017 Independent Woman Luncheon, a fundraising event of the Phoenix Art Museum. The Feb. 7th luncheon celebrated the Valley’s premier design community in the museum’s Cummings Great Hall.
Now in its seventh year, the Independent Woman Luncheon has become one of the Valley’s most beautiful and beloved philanthropic events.
This year’s Independent Woman Luncheon offered one-of-a-kind themed centerpieces created by top Valley design firms, including Karen Rapp Interiors.
Local designers created table centerpieces reflecting their interpretation of Richardson’s down-to-earth elegance. Their creations were placed atop a bright yellow tablecloth created with material from Richardson’s latest fabric collection.
Each beautiful centerpiece was available for purchase at the luncheon.
Karen Rapp’s inspiring centerpiece featured a large, white-glazed terra cotta planter designed for Ballard Designs by last year’s keynote presenter, Suzanne Kasler.
White House Design Studio created this faux orchid arrangement and added fresh flowers in small milk-glass vases, which were purchased from Luna Bazaar and Lights for All Occasions.
Sarah Richardson Keynote
Every year, the event honors a high-profile designer. This year, the keynote speaker was Sarah Richardson, who is best known as the host of several HBTV shows, including Room Service, Design Inc. and Real Potential. She is also a best-selling author, and her most recent book, At Home: Sarah Style, was available for purchase in the Phoenix Art Museum’s Museum Store.
The event included a raffle featuring gift items and furnishings from Valley luxury retailers.
Each guest also received a beautiful IWL Lifestyle Guide, which featured an interview with Sarah Richardson, advertisements from designers and information regarding other events at the Phoenix Art Museum.
All proceeds from the luncheon benefited Phoenix Art Museum’s educational and exhibition programming.
